چکیده
The increasing growth in complexity of vehicles’ functionalities is driving a technological shift the design software architectures automotive industry. Traditional signal-oriented networking being replaced by service-oriented communications enabled new generation Electronic Control Units (ECUs). growing interest for full-fledged middlewares can be supported these powerful ECUs. However, capabilities come at non-negligible cost, which conflicts with need to cost-effective solution that allows meeting aggressive budget goals high volume market like automotive. In this paper, we illustrate how significant part middleware Data Distribution Service (DDS) effectively implemented through hardware accelerators. We show our approach guarantee performance while minimizing system level (e.g. AUTOSAR) shifting painful or inefficient implementations QoS policies directly hardware. This, turn, build solutions suitable next-generation systems.

The objective of this report is to present the results of the on-going research activity, carried out at the Mobilab research group at the University of Napoli, on evaluating the suitability of the recent OMG specification for pub/sub services, called Data Dissemination Service (DDS) [1], within the context of data dissemination for Large-scale Complex Critical Infrastructures (LCCI).
متن کاملMassively Parallel Computing: Data Distribution and Communication
We discuss some techniques for preserving locality of reference in index spaces when mapped to memory units in a distributed memory architecture. In particular, we discuss the use of multidimensional address spaces instead of linearized address spaces, partitioning of irregular grids, and placement of partitions among nodes. We also discuss a set of communication primitives we have found very u...
متن کاملHardware acceleration of processing of mass spectrometric data for proteomics
MOTIVATION High-resolution mass spectrometers generate large data files that are complex, noisy and require extensive processing to extract the optimal data from raw spectra. This processing is readily achieved in software and is often embedded in manufacturers' instrument control and data processing environments. However, the speed of this data processing is such that it is usually performed o...
متن کاملUnreliable Data Transmissions und Limited Hardware Communication Buffers in Automotive E/E Virtual Prototypes
The immense complexity of modern automotive E/E architectures requires a thorough system evaluation already in early design phases. This can be achieved by high-level virtual prototypes. They rely on abstractions and assessments to be applicable in early phases, simplify their development, and speedup the evaluation. One of the typically neglected discrepancies between the virtual prototype and...
